Youth Injured in Arkula Road Mishap Dies

Mangaluru: Zameer (19), who had been injured in a horrible road mishap near Yashaswi hall in Arkula on June 10 died in a private hospital on Sunday evening.

He was the son of Abdul Qader and Mumtaz couple from Nandavara in Sajipa Munnur village in Bantwal taluk. He was working as a painter for some time and then had joined a hypermarket in Bengaluru.

He had come home on a visit. On Friday, June 10, he had gone to Mangaluru on work and was returning in an autorickshaw. At Arkula, a container lorry went out of control of the driver and overshot the median. It landed right on a Maruti 800 car and the autorickshaw. Muhammed Nazeer (29), Salaam (22), Muhammed Sinan (16) who were in the rickshaw, Abbas (40) who was in the car and Unais (20), a pedestrian, had died on the spot.

Taufeeq, Shaukat Ali and Zameer had been injured. With the death of Zameer, the total number of deaths has risen to six.
