ZP CEO Dr Kumar Chosen for State Award by Election Commission
Mangaluru: The CEO of Zilla Panchayat, Dr Kumar IAS, has been chosen for the state award by the Election Commission.
The award of Best CEO will be presented to Dr Kumar by the Governor of Karnataka on January 25, in Bengaluru.
The election commission has also chosen the Deputy Commissioner of Udupi as well as the District Election Officer Kurma Rao IAS and Technical Programmer and Election staff of Dakshina Kannada Rama Marathi for the award.
On January 25, the election commission will celebrate the 13th National Voter’s Day with the theme “Nothing like Voting, I vote for sure”. On this occasion, awards will be presented to all 27 winners from various districts in a programme held at Sir Puttanna Chetty Town Hall, Bengaluru.
ZP CEO Kumar organized an awareness programme on Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) for members of the transgender community at the Zilla Panchayat Mini Hall on December 6. He also organized Yakshagaana Art to convey messages to raise awareness among people and youngsters to enrol their names in the voters’ list. He also organized awareness programmes on SVEEP in various colleges, malls, airports, railway stations and bus stands. The Election Commission considered all these activities by Dr Kumar and chose him for the Best CEO award.
