Zulekha Yenepoya Institute of Oncology Holds Concert for Cancer-Free Society
Mangaluru: Zulekha Yenepoya Institute of Oncology, a Constituent unit of Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) conducted a Concert for Cancer free society at Dr Ambedkar Bhavan, Millers Road, Bangalore.
The event was an initiative by Zulekha Yenepoya Institute of Oncology, a Musical journey as a ray of hope for cancer patients.
The event was presided over by the Chancellor of Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) Dr Yenepoya Abdulla Kunhi. The event was graced with the presence of eminent personalities like H L Soumya Achar IRS, Income tax Commissioner, CPC Karnataka and Dr V Lokesh, Director, Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology as chief guests.
It was also graced by the presence of special invitees like R Gopinath Rao IEDS, Deputy Director, MSME, Govt of India, and The Week Magazine.
Dr M Vijayakumar, Vice Chancellor- YU delivered a brief address regarding various cancer aspects, emphasizing the services rendered by Zulekha Yenepoya Institute of Oncology in the same regard. Dr Nagaraj Shet, Marketing Manager –YU & AMS-YMCH briefed a presentation delivering information regarding Yenepoya Medical College Hospital and Zulekha Yenepoya Institute of Oncology.
Dr K S Gangadhara Somayaji, Registrar, Yenepoya (Deemed to be University), Dr Jalaluddin Akbar, Professor & HOD, Surgical Oncology-YMCH, employees and students of YU &YMCH were also present at the event.
The event witnessed various cultural and other performances. Standup Comedy by Nagaraja Kote, a Motivational Speech by Dr Sajeev Nair, Music Concert, Solo Dance and Classical dance performances to name a few were held adding glitter to the event.
Alongside the University, the event organization was jointly convened by M K Somashekaran, Jeeva Jyothi Educational Trust andSathyanarayana, Media Consultant –YU.
The event added yet another feather to the scriptures of the University.
