Bantwal: PU Student Stabbed While Waiting for Bus
Mangaluru: A Pre-University (PUC) student was allegedly attacked with a knife by a young man while she was waiting for a bus to travel to college in Ira village of Bantwal taluk, Dakshina Kannada district.
The accused, identified as 28-year-old local trader Javvar, allegedly launched a sudden knife attack on the student before fleeing the scene. Preliminary investigation suggests that the attack was triggered by a love-related issue.
The student sustained injuries to her hand and suffered heavy bleeding. Local residents immediately rushed her to a nearby hospital for treatment. Bloodstains were reportedly found at the bus stop following the incident.
Both the injured student and the accused are residents of Padpu in Montimar, Bantwal.
Police from the Bantwal Rural Police Station visited the spot, conducted an inspection, and registered a case. A search has been launched to trace and apprehend the accused.
