Body of 58-year-old woman Shifted in JCB and Dumped in Davanagere

Davanagere: In an inhuman act, the body of a 58-year-old woman from Channagiri, who had died of COVID-19 at the McGann District Hospital in Shivamogga, was shifted and dumped in the burial ground in a JCB.

According to sources, the 58-year-old woman had died of COIVD-19 at the McGann District Hospital in Shivamogga.

After the woman’s death, her body was buried at the Veerashaiva crematorium located beside the National Highway in Channagiri. The officials and the municipal staff shifted the body to the burial ground in a JCB and dumped it. The incident which was video recorded has gone viral in social media.

After the incident came to light, the deputy commissioner of Davanagere, Mahantesh Belagi issued a notice to the Tahsildar, Taluk Health officer, and Nodal officer for the inhuman act. He also advised the officers to strictly follow the COVID-19 protocol in the disposal of the body.
