Driver Killed as Bus Crashes into Shop in Agumbe
Agumbe/ Shimoga: A Bus driver was killed and 12 others sustained injuries when a private bus crashed into a shop on the Agumbe road on Tuesday, February 28.
The deceased has been identified as bus driver Srikanta.
According to sources, the private bus Shivashanker which was on its way to Shivamogga from Udupi suffered a mechanical problem and rcrashed into the roadside shop when the driver lost control of it. Driver Srikanta sustained serious injuries. He was rushed to a Local Hospital, where he breathed his last.
Two passengers who have sustained critical injuries were shifted to the Manipal and Thirthahalli Hospitals, 10 other passengers who sustained minor injuries were treated as outpatients at the government hospital.
A case has been registered in the Agumbe Police Station
