KMC Hospital Opens New Laboratory Sample Collection Centre in Urwa

Centre offers NABL-accredited laboratory services and home sample collection

Mangaluru: KMC Hospital Mangaluru has inaugurated a new Laboratory Sample Collection Centre at Urwa Anantha Arogyam Health Centre, strengthening access to convenient and reliable diagnostic services for residents in and around Urwa.

The centre will provide access to NABL-accredited laboratory services from KMC Lab, enabling residents to undergo quality diagnostic testing closer to home. It will also offer home sample collection, benefiting senior citizens, people with mobility challenges, and those who prefer the convenience of getting samples collected at home.

Supported by qualified laboratory professionals, the centre is designed to provide a convenient and dependable sample collection experience. Laboratory reports will be sent to patients’ registered WhatsApp numbers, allowing them to access their results without having to make an additional visit to the centre.

Speaking on the occasion, Pramod Kunder, Cluster Director, Manipal Hospitals, said timely and accurate diagnosis plays an important role in effective healthcare.

“With the new sample collection centre at Urwa, we aim to make trusted diagnostic services more accessible to the community. The availability of home sample collection will further add to the convenience, particularly for elderly patients and those who may find it difficult to travel,” he said.

The KMC Laboratory Sample Collection Centre, Urwa, will operate from 7 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. It is located at Urwa Anantha Arogyam Health Centre, near Government Indoor Stadium, Urwa Market, Mangaluru – 575006.

For home sample collection and related enquiries, residents can contact 70222 51193.

The initiative is part of KMC Hospital’s ongoing efforts to bring quality healthcare and diagnostic services closer to the community and make healthcare access more convenient and patient-friendly.
