Malpe-Padukere Bridge to be inaugurated on March 11 – Pramod Madhwaraj

Udupi: The Malpe-Padukere Bridge will be inaugurated on March 11 said Pramod Madhwaraj, Minister of State for Fisheries, Youth Services and Sports and also the district minister in-charge of Udupi.

He was speaking to the media persons after inspecting the bridge Construction work on Wednesday, February 15. “The work of the bridge is almost completed. The connecting road work is in progress and all the work will be completed by February end. The bridge was being constructed at a cost of Rs 16.91 crore. The width of the bridge is 5.5 metres. Another Rs 1 crore is being spent on the construction of a connecting road to the bridge. The required additional funds were arranged from SFC. Rs 13.5 crore payment has been already made and a project monitoring committee has been set up. The height of the bridge has been increased, the lenght of the bridge now is 430 meters and the width 6.25 meters. I am not bothered about the allegations made by some BJP leaders”, he added.

Congress leader Sathish Ameen Paduker, Keshav Kotian, Prashanth Poojary, Keshav Kotian, Neeraj Patil CMC vice-president Sadhya Thilakraj, ZP memebr Janardhan Tonse, Councilor Narayan Kunder and others were present.
