Pilikula Biological Park Celebrates Successful Breeding of Indian Wolves

Mangaluru: In a landmark achievement for wildlife conservation, the Pilikula Biological Park has announced the successful breeding of Indian wolves. Geetha, an Indian wolf residing at the park, has given birth to a litter of seven pups, comprising four males and three females. This event marks the first successful breeding of the species at Pilikula since their introduction to the park approximately three years ago.

Park officials have lauded the event as a significant milestone in their ongoing conservation and captive breeding programs. The successful birth of the pups is a testament to the favorable conditions and dedicated care provided at the biological park.

Both Geetha, the mother wolf, and her seven pups are reported to be in good health and are under close observation by the park’s veterinary team and animal caretakers. The team is diligently monitoring their progress to ensure optimal development and well-being.

The wolf pups have begun to exhibit active movement, offering visitors to the Pilikula Biological Park a unique opportunity to observe the young animals. This recent addition is expected to further enhance the park’s appeal to wildlife enthusiasts and help raise awareness about conserving India’s native species.
