Shirva: Senior Civil Contractor, Social Worker Cyril Quadras Passes Away

Shirva: Renowned senior civil contractor, social worker, and education enthusiast Cyril Quadras (85), a resident of Bantakal Bisi Road, passed away at his residence on January 5.
He is survived by his wife, three sons—including entrepreneur and civil contractor Pradeep Quadras and dentist Dr Dilip Quadras—and two daughters.

Cyril Quadras had served in various positions in the Parish Council of Pamboor Holy Cross Church and also rendered service as a ward representative of the church. He was the founder president of the Bantakal Lions Club and was known for his philanthropic activities.
Earlier, he was employed with the British Bank of the Middle East in Abu Dhabi. After the death of his father in 1989, he returned to his hometown and established himself as a reputable civil contractor.

During his career, he was involved in the construction of several churches, mosques, temples, schools, colleges, commercial complexes, and auditoriums across Agartala, Bidar, Bengaluru, Uttara Kannada, Dakshina Kannada, and Udupi districts. In recognition of his contribution, he was awarded the Best Contractor of the Udupi district by the Karnataka Government.

He also played a key role in the establishment of Padubelli Sri Narayana Guru High School and the Pamboor Manasa Training and Rehabilitation Centre. Several organisations had honoured him for his valuable contributions to society.
