Wild Elephant Attack Victim’s Family Gets Rs 5 Lakh
Sullia: Ganesh, a youth from Samudravalli in Shantigodu village in Hassan district, had died when a wild elephant suddenly attacked him on the Bisile ghat road near Subrahmanya.
He had died of fatal injuries. He was riding a bike with a friend when the sad incident happened.
A cheque of Rs 5 lakh was handed over to his family on behalf of the government by the minister of forests B Ramanath Rai here. The victim’s mother Sharadamma, grandfather Ramanujam and uncle Jayaram received it from his hands.
Assistant conservator of forests Ganapati, Prashant Pai, advocate M Venkappa Gowda and other elected representatives were present on the occasion.
