Golden Opportunity for Youth to Join The Indian Army

Mangaluru: “An Army recruiting rally is being conducted at the Sainik School Vijayapura from May 13 to 18, 2017 for five categories. Candidates from 11 districts of Karnataka namely, Bagalkot, Vijayapura, Dharwad, Uttar Kannada, Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Davangere, Gadag, Haveri, Chikkamagaluru and Shivamogga are eligible to attend”, said the director of recruitment, Indian Army, col Prashanth K in a press meet held at DC office here on March 6.

Addressing the mediapersons Col Prashanth said, “In the year 2015, only 135 youth from Dakshina Kannada district applied for the Indian Army and in 2016, only 34 youth had applied. It is very sad to note that the youth are not showing interest to join the army. This is a golden opportunity for the youth to join the Indian army and serve the nation. The Procedure for the applicants is as follows: Only male unmarried candidates are eligible to apply. Candidates are required to register online at www.joinindianarmy.nic. Online registration is open from 12 Mar 2017 to 25 Apr 2017. Candidates can apply for only one category. Multiple applications for different categories will be rejected. There are no fees to be paid for registration. After 01 May 2017, candidates are required to print admit card and report at the Rally ground on given date and time”.

The process of Recruitment

The Recruitment process takes place in three phases
(a) Phase I – Physical Fitness Tests and Physical Measurements Test
(b) Phase II – Medical Examination.
(C) Phase lll – Written exam at Mangaluru.

Medically Fit candidates will appear for objective type written test at the ARO Mangaluru on the last Sunday and those who pass on merit are enrolled into various arms and services of the army and dispatched for training to the respective training centre in Sep/Dec 2017.

Required documents

Candidates are required to produce following documents for verification during Recruitment Rally.

(a) Two photocopies of SSLC/PUC/10+2/lntermediate/Diploma /Graduation certificate (Original Marks Sheets not required to be carried at Rally Loc).
(b) Affidavit on Rs 10/Non Judicial Stamp paper in English from all candidates as per proforma attached.
(c) Fifteen copies of latest passport size colour photographs. (Polaroid camera. photos and Computer photos will not be accepted).
(d) Nativity/Permanent Residence certificate and Caste Certificate from Tahsildar/Deputy Commissioner in original in English. Full name and designation of the officer issuing certificate must be recorded legibly. Certificates in Kannada will not be accepted.
(e)Pre-Police verification (name of police station will be clearly reflected for verification of candidates)
(f) Aadhar & PAN Card Photocopy.

Precautions

Candidates and Parents are cautioned that lNDlAN ARMY DOES NOT nominate ANY agents for selection/recruitment. Army person collecting money with a promise to influence or ensure recruitment is FRAUD and indulging in such activities should be reported to the police. Candidates SHOULD NOT hand over original documents to any person.

All tests are conducted in a transparent manner. The candidate has to pass all test himself. There is no scope of any outside influence. Any person/ organisation claiming to influence is FALSE. Candidates are requested not to believe such person/organisation.

Pay and Allowances

Indian Army provides excellent facilities and pay. A soldier earns Approx Rs 25000/per month. in addition, he is entitled to free clothing, rations, accommodation, medical facilities, free railway warrant to his home every year and canteen facilities. Soldiers are also entitled to 90 days of leave every year.

Youth of Karnataka must utilise this excellent opportunity to come prepared for selection and join the Indian Army to serve the motherland with Honour and Pride.
