Within 24 hours DK Reports Third COVID-19 Death

Mangaluru: Within 24 hours, Dakshina Kannada district has reported its third COVID-19 death on June 28, after a 50-year-old woman from Jokatte died at the COVID hospital. This is the 13th COVID-19 death in Dakshina Kannada district.

The 50-year-old woman from Jokatte was suffering from Tuberculosis and was admitted to a private Hospital in Suratkal. On June 26, when her health deteriorated, she was shifted to a private hospital in Mangaluru. Her throat swab was sent for test and confirmed to be positive for COVID-19.

It is learnt that her husband is a fish vendor and all in the house were suffering from fever last week.

Earlier, on June 27 at 11:00 pm, a 31-year-old man from Iddya, Suratkal had died of COVID-19 at the Wenlock COVID Hospital, followed by a 58-year-old woman from Loretto Padav during the early hours of June 28. Within 24 hours three persons have succumbed to COVID-19 in the district.
