Explosive Information of Sharath Murder, Suppressing Facts and Truth is Crime – Khader

Mangaluru: “Suppressing information of the facts and truth of any crime is also a crime. If ministers do not visit the victims, the opposition blames them, so also if they visit the victim they do the same. In Dakshina Kannada people are always busy in their own work. The situation in DK is normal. I request the people of Dakshina Kannada to forget this incident as a bad memory and carry on with their lives maintaining peace. People sit in some other place and talk about Dakshina Kannada creating confusion among the people of the district is not good. We need to talk less and work unitedly to arrest those who are inciting and involved in creating communal violence.” said the Minister for Food and Civil supplies U T Khader in a press meet held at the Circuit House here on July 15.

Addressing the mediapersons Khader said, “Instead of blaming each other we should work for peace in the district. Let us not politicize such issues but live in peace and harmony. “I want to say that we have imposed section 144 to avoid any untoward incidents from taking place. Our intention is to create peace in the district. Some miscreants intentionally want to create violence. I know that there is section 144 from 50 days which sends a wrong message. We are trying to avoid public nuisance.”

When asked about the Swamiji having explosive information of Sharath’s murder which he has said that he will be handing it over only to the NIA, Khader said, “Those who have information should pass it over to the police. If they do not co-operate there is a procedure to get the information. Those who have such critical information should pass it on to the concerned authorities so that the police can trace and arrest the accused. Having information and suppressing the facts and truth also comes under IPC section”.

When asked about the Swamiji blaming him of visiting Sharath in the hospital prior to his death Khader said, “When Sharath was assaulted I was not in town. I visited Sharath in the hospital two days before his death. When Ashraf was murdered I was not in town. If we don’t go they blame. Three months ago I visited my relatives in Bantwal. At that time Sharath had met me and said that although I am in the other organization, I commend your development work. I have prayed for his good health and recovery.”

Those who are involved in criminal activities should be punished. In the Sharath or Ashraf murder case conspirators should also be arrested. To provide compensation, the district administration and the police department should send the report and the medical bills to the government. We have sanctioned Rs 5 lakh compensation from the government to Raju Mogaveer and Safwan families.”

When asked about the opposition fielding booth level party workers against Rai and Khader in the forthcoming elections in Bantwal and Ullal, Khader said, “The opposition is playing politics in everything. If the opposition leaders contest against us they will not even be able to get the votes the booth level party workers get. To avoid embarrassment they are speaking of fielding booth level party workers.”
