Mangaluru : Finally we have a MLA who has taken a few of government staff to task who are negligent and not committed to their daily office duties. On Monday, a video of Moodbidri MLA Umanath Kotian showing his frustration and anger against the work ethic of staff in local village government office (Nada Kacheri), where he is seen yelling at the govt office staff for not responding to the problems and applications of citizens and spending most of their time on their mobile phones, and also warns them not to bring their mobile phones inside the office, and to use them only during break time.
As seen on the video, MLA is talking both in Kannada and Tulu saying, ” It is you who made me to come here. People who were dissatisfied with your work and harassment towards them had brought the matter to my notice, and that’s the reason I came here. You don’t attend to them when they come to your office to avail benefits of various government schemes. Should they beg for their rights? No, they have all the rights to demand what they need. Look at that woman waiting over there, who was asked to come to your office-but no one attended her for the last few hours”.
“Even though she was asked to visit your office today, but officials are reluctant to process her files. I have video footage sent to me by people, where you all are chatting on your mobile phones instead of doing your office work. I warn you-Don’t bring your mobile phones to the office, use it only during break or lunch time. This is not the only time that I have come here, I will make frequent visits to this office, therefore straighten up yourselves and do your duties right, and attend peoples’grievances without delays” says MLA in the video.
