Bengaluru Mayor pays last rites to deceased soldier Narendra

Bengaluru, (DHNS): City Mayor R. Sampath Raj and Deputy Padmavathi N visit deceased soldier Narendra’s residence to pay last rites.

Mayor expressed his condolences to Narendra’s family saying, “a young soldier demise is a huge loss to the nation. I have spoken to Chief Minister on providing financial aides to the family and also to order the further probe into the death”. Narendra allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with a service rifle in an army camp in Anantnag district in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday morning.

Army officials have stated that Narendra shot himself with his service revolver at the army camp but his parents suspect a foul play behind their son’s death.

Narendra R, who hails from Rajagopalnagar in Bengaluru had joined army two years ago. He was found dead on Sunday and the family came to know about the incident early hours on Monday. Narendra is survived by his father Raju K, a tempo driver, mother Pushpa R, younger brother Sharath R and younger sister Bhavani R.
