Case registered for Derogatory post against Prophet Mohammed on Facebook
Udupi: The Shirva police have registered a case against a person for allegedly making derogatory remarks against Prophet Mohammed on Facebook.
According to the police, the accused has been identified as Shashikanth Poojary.
Kaup Chandranagar resident Shabbir Abdul Khadar filed a complaint at the Shirva Police Station stating that Shashikant Poojary had posted an objectionable comment on Facebook against Prophet Mohammed. By posting such comments he has hurt the religious sentiments of the Muslim community and tried to create communal trouble in the society. His posts have targeted the Muslim community, he said.
A case has been registered in the Shirva Police station and investigation is on.
