COVID – 19: Lockdown and Section 144 in DK, Strict Action against Violators – Dr Harsha

Mangaluru: In the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak there has been lockdown in 9 Districts in the state from March 22. On the same day, deputy commissioner of DK Sindhu Roopesh has imposed section 144 in the district until March 31 midnight.

Police commissioner Dr Harsha in his video message said, “The COVID – 19 has spread around the world and nearly 3.40 lakh people have been affected by the Coronavirus and so far 14,704 people around the world have died. In developed and advanced countries having top medical facilities, many lives have been lost since they neglected this disease. In this direction, the government of India, the state government and the district administration have taken important measures to prevent the spread of the virus. There will be a lockdown in DK district until March 31 along with section 144”.

Dr Harsha further advised, “Since there is a lockdown in the District along with section 144, I request all to strictly follow it. If anyone is found violating the guidelines, cases will be filed against them under section 188, 269 and 270 IPC. People who need essential supplies or services are allowed to come out. All the Churches, Mosques and Temples have been closed. All should pray in their own homes. The entire world is facing the crises and all should co-operate with the government and the district administration.”

Dr Harsha also said, “It is the duty of every citizen to follow the guidelines. All residential apartments should follow the guidelines of the government. As the government is trying its best to control the spreading of COVID-19, all should co-operate by staying at home. I once again request the people of the district to stay home and be safe”.
