DCIB arrests Ninth Accused in Hiriyadka dacoity case

Udupi: The DCIB Police on Thursday, March 30, arrested another person in connection to the dacoity case in Hiriyadka.

The arrested has been identified as Ibrahim (32) a resident of Uchila, Udupi Taluk.

On March 17, while Dilip was travelling from Moodbidri to Udupi, in downtown Udupi, according to the plan, Harikrishna acted as a police, stopped the bus and pulled out Dilip from it, he was then pushed into a car and taken to Nandikur where he was looted of the gold ornaments and cash. Dilip was then pushed out of the car at Nandikur and the gang sped away.

The DCIB Police have already arrested Eight of the accused including the prime accused Harikrishna Bhat proprietor of Gayathri Jewelers who was dealing with Dilip the distributor of gold ornaments supplied from Thrissur, Kerala on March 22.

The investigation was initiated under the direction of ASP Vishnuvardhan, Udupi DySP Kumaraswamy, DCIB Inspector Sampath Kumar, ASI Rosario D’Souza, Head Constable’s Ravi Chandra, Suresh Kumar, Chandra Shetty, Ramu Hegde, Raghavendra Uppunda, Santhosh Kunder, Praveen Marakala Constable’s, Dayananda Prabhu, Rajkumar, Shivananda Poojary and Driver Raghavendra
