Ex-minister gives One Week Deadline to Arrest Culprits in Suspicious Death of Karje Youth Shreyas
Udupi: Former minister Pramod Madhwaraj on November 11 visited the house of Shreyas who died in suspicious circumstances and consoled the family members at Kurpadi in Hosur Gram Panchayat limits of Brahmavar Taluk.
The death of Karje youth has taken a twist when Shreyas’s mother alleged that the local BJP party activists had murdered her son.
According to the police report on November 5, Shreyas along with his friend Rakesh and others had gone to the Madisalu river on motorbikes. They had planned to catch fish in the river using explosives. While they were fishing the explosives burst and Shreyas had died in the incident.
Speaking to media persons Shreyas’s Mother Shobha said, “On November 5, Shreyas was studying at home when the BJP workers Sadananda and Yogish called our neighbour and asked him to bring Shreyas near the Madisalu River where they murdered my son in the name of fishing. Shreyas was a fan of Pramod Madhwaraj, he was intentionally killed by the BJP activists. Sadananda and Yogish have a criminal background and have various cases against them. The police department should impartially investigate the case,” she demanded.
Speaking to mediapersons former minister Pramod said that the family of the deceased Shreyas allege that it was a murder. As per the primary information, the youth who had gone along with Shreyas are in contact with the BJP. The BJP is trying to convert the death of Shreyas as a natural death.
We are giving one week of time to the police department to investigate the case. If they fail to investigate and arrest the culprits we will hold a protest along with Karje villagers in front of the SP office, he warned.
