Padubidri: Fish Laden Mini Lorry Rolls over after Head-on Collision – One Critical

Padubidri: A person was severely injured when two lorries collided head-on at Shivanagar, Padubidri NH 66.

A cement laden lorry travelling from Tamil Nadu to Udupi collided head-on into an oncoming fish laden mini truck at Shivanagar while negotiating a turn.

The driver of the Mitshubishi Canter, Muthu (55), a native of Namakallu,Tamilnadu, was seriously injured in the accident. The force of the impact was such that the fish laden Mitsubishi Canter rolled over, scattering all the fish on the road. The driver of the other lorry and cleaners of both the lorries sustained minor injuries.

According to the police, the cement laden lorry applied sudden brakes, but due to the slippery road because of the unexpected rains, the driver lost control and hit the truck on the opposite lane carrying fish from Goa to Kerala.

A case has been registered in the Padubidri police station.
