Sri Siddhivinayaka Prathisthtaana Sarvajanika Shree Ganeshotsava Samiti to host 15th Ganeshotsava Celebration from 13-15 Sept at Omkara Nagara, Bunts Hostel, Mangaluru

Mangaluru: Addressing the media persons during a press meet held at the Samiti Hall, Bunts Hostel, Maladi Ajith Kumar Rai, the Managing Trustee of Sri Siddhivinayaka Prathisthtaana/Sarvajanika Shree Ganeshotsava Samiti said, “This year will be the 15th year that our Samiti is organizing the traditional and glamorous Ganeshotsava Celebrations” from 13-15 September at Omkara Nagar, Bunts Hostel. But this year we have cut down our expenses by not spending more money on publicity, and other not needed things, instead we have decided to donate that amount to the flood relief funds in Kerala and Kodagu district. But we have not skipped the needed programmes during the celebrations. We are also raising funds through this event to be donated to the flood victims in Kerala and Kodagu”.

“On September 12, at 5 pm we will bring the Sri Siddhivinayaka God’s statue created by Ramdas Achar’s disciples from Sharavau Temple to Omkara Nagara, Bunts Hostel. On 13 September at 8 am, there will be flag hoisting by Brigadier Vinod Adappa and Ms Sonia V Adappa, followed by religious ceremony. In the afternoon, there will be Ganeshotsava cultural programmes, including Dance performances by Yuva Bunt Sangha. At 5 pm there will be a religious conference, followed by Yakshagana by renowned Yakshagana artist Patla Sathish Shetty and troupe at 8 pm. On 14 Sept at 10 am, religious bajana dance performances, and in the evening a religious conference will be held, followed by Religious songs performance by Puttur Narasimha Nayak and Raichur Sheshagiridas ‘added Maladi Rai.

He further said, “On 15 Sept, it is the big celebration day, where at 3.30 pm the statue of Ganesha will taken in a procession from Omkara Nagara, escorted by various dance artists, bands etc. All necessary arrangements have been made to organize these celebration days in a very systematic and traditional way. On 12 Sept, a drawing competition is organized for children up to 1st std-Group I; 2, 3 and 4 std-group II; 5, 6 and 7 std-group III; and 8, 9 and 10 std-group IV, to be held at Bunts Sangha. The topic for the drawing contest is ‘Celebration of Festivals’. There is no entry fee, and its open to all. We request the support and encouragement from everyone to make this celebration a grand success like always”.
