Volunteers clear garbage from river side under “Seetha Nadi Ulisi” Campaign

Udupi: Several tones garbage was collected from both sides of the River Seetha at Mabukala by the likeminded volunteers on Sunday May 19.

Bhandvya Blood Karnataka, Mandara cultural and service orgaionsation along with JCI Kota Brigediar, Aasare Helping Hand Udupi, Swach udupi Team Karavali Vajra Kesari Team”cleaned the both side of River Seetha Under the slogan of “Seetha Nadi Ulisi.

Dinesh Bhandavya, volunteer of Bhandvya Blood Karnataka who took the initiative to “Seetha Nadi Ulisi” through social media got huge response by the several people, youth volunteers of Udupi district.

Volunteers were divided into different groups to carry out the cleaning in the locality. Garbage was collected in and it was transported through the trucks for scientific disposal. A 1.5 Km stretch of the NH 66 in the vicinity has been free from various types’ garbage including chicken waste, plastic waste, polythene covers, tender coconuts glass bottles and others which were dumped on the river side.

According to Dinesh, the people were dumping the various waste both side of the NH 66 at Mabukala near Seetha River. By dumping the waste in river side it will mix with the river, the water of the river will be polluted. The team Bahndvya is creating awareness on the people not to dump the waste on river side, unfortunately people again and again dumping there only. Now we are decided to install CC TV with help of generous donors and it will be help to find out who is dump the waste.
