Amit Shah meets Pejawar Swamiji, Seeks Blessings for Assembly Elections

Udupi: The BJP national president Amit Shah who is touring Udupi district met Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji of Pejawar Math and inquired about his health on February 20.

After the fishermen convention at Malpe Amit Shah arrived at the Pejawar Math around 8:30 pm along with state president of BJP B S Yeddyurappa, Muralidhar Rao secretary of BJP and other BJP leaders. Amit Shah spent some time with Pejawar Swamiji and inquired about his health.

Later Amit Shah proceeded to Vijaya Dhwaja hall and met various Hindu Swamiji’s of Udupi and Dakshina Kannada District.

Various Swamijis like Sri Vidyadeesha Theertha Swamiji of Paryaya Palimar Math, Sugunendra Theertha Swamiji of Putthige Math, Sri Vidya Prasanna Theertha Swamiji of Subramanya, Sri Esha Vittaladasa Swamiji of Kemaru, Sri Raghaveshwara Swamiji of Gokarna, Shri Rajashekharananda Swamiji of Vajradehi Math Gurupur, Sri Narsimhashrama Swamiji of Balekudru Math, Sri Vikyathananda Swamiji of Sri Kshetra Bulyottu, Hosmaru and others took part in the meeting.

Amit Shah discussed on various issues and problems facing by the Hindu religion. Amit Shah held a closed-door meeting in the presence of Swamijis of various temples. But sources said that Amit Shah asked the support of the Hindu Swamiji’s for the Upcoming Assembly elections in Karnataka. The Swamijis also agreed to support the BJP in the forthcoming elections.

Amit Shah was honoured by the Swamijis. Later he proceeded to the Inspection Bungalow at Bannanje.

Speaking to the media persons Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji of Pejawar Math said, “I can’t disclose the details of the meeting. But I asked Amit Shah that there will be discrimination between the minority and Majority religions. The governments are providing all facilities to the people of the minority community which is wrong. In a secular country, governments should treat the people of all faiths and religions equally. If the government gives common facilities to people of all the faiths and religions equally it is good for all. Today’s meeting was held on the request of Amit Shah, his party members asked me to organise a meeting of all Swamijis during his visit and we agreed to his request. If Rahul Gandhi asks us to hold such a meeting we are ready for that also. We have good relations with all party leaders”.
