Kasaragod: Dr Irshad Reported Missing in Nepal Quake Scene Found Dead

Kasaragod: Dr Irshad, son of A N Shamsuddin employed with the state Electricity Board, who had been reported missing in Nepal along with others while on a tour, has been found there. His body was traced in Kathmandu Medical College and Teaching Hospital and it was identified by his brother Liaqat on Tuesday.

The documents on his person helped the identification. Liaqat, who works in Dubai, had airdashed to Kathmandu when the news arrived that Dr Irshad had gone missing in Kathmandu. After visiting different hospitals, he found it in the said institution’s mortuary.

Dr Irshad had completed the MBBS course in Kozhikode in 2013 and had just pursued higher studies in Shimla and Delhi. Thereafter, accompanied Dr Deepak of Kannur and Dr Abisuri of Wayanad, they had gone on a pleasure trip to Nepal, but the cruel fate awaited him.

Dr Deepak had also died in the quake and his body was identified by his relatives who had arrived in Nepal.

Dr Irshad was engaged to be married in July and their house was getting spruced up for the big event.

Of his brothers, Dr Sadiq serves in a hospital in Mangaluru, Haris is a merchant in Kasaragod and Aziz is an engineer in Dubai.
