Muslim Brethren observe Eid Al-Fitr Celebrations with In-House Prayers
Udupi: Muslim brethren observed Eid-ul-Fitr amid the Covid-19 pandemic and lockdown on Sunday, May 24 in Udupi District.
The lockdown has affected the festive spirit. Since no mass prayers are allowed, the Muslim community offered Namaz at home with their family members and celebrated the festival. The Community leaders have called on Mosques and Islamic centres to “strictly follow the Health Department and state official guidelines for social gatherings and distancing.
The Eid, which comes at the end of the 30-day Ramzan month, is expected to be the first-of-its-kind with adherence to norms of social distancing. The community leaders have also urged people to stay at home and not venture out for Eid shopping.
