Club Owner Guruprasad Murder Case, Three Arrested

Udupi: In a swift action, the Udupi police arrested 3 persons in connection with the brutal murder of Club owner Guruprasad Bhat on July 29.

The arrested have been identified as Sujith Pinto (35) Kallianpura, Pradeep Poojary (36) of Kodankoor, Rajesh Poojary (30) Kakkunje Kunjibeetu. The Accused were arrested near Kandlur while they were trying to escape in a Maruth Omini Car.

Guruprasad was running a recreation club at ‘7th Heaven’ building in Manipal and was a relative of Udupi MLA Raghupathi Bhat.

On Sunday, July 29, four miscreants came in a car with machetes and other sharp weapons and hacked Guruprasad leaving him grievously injured. Guruprasad was rushed to a nearby hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead. A financial conflict between Sujith Pinto and Guruprasad is said to be the main reason for the murder.

The main accused Sujith Pinto was earlier involved in the Varwady Praveen Kumar Murder case.
