He also urged the students to respect Kannada language, that one must try to save kannada language. ” While CM Siddaramaiah has said, “Everyone who lives here is a Kannadiga. Whoever lives in Karnataka should learn Kannada and make their children learn it too- we should make it a point to learn Kannada and speak it fluently . But if you don’t learn Kannada, it means you’re showing disrespect to the language,” added the chief guest.

It may be noted that Karnataka Rajyotsava, which is celebrated on November 1 every year, marks the day when all the Kannada language-speaking regions in South India merged to form the state of Karnataka.
