Kundapur: 17-year-old College Student found dead in Byndoor – Murder Suspected

Kundapur: A 17-year-old college student was found dead at Henuberu, Otthenene, Byndoor here, on June 17.


The deceased has been identified as Akshatha Devadiga (17), daughter of Babu Devadiga from Henuberu. Akshatha was studying in the Government Pre University College, Byndoor.

According to the police, Akshatha went to the college but never returned home. When she did not return home for long, the family members started to search for her. During their search, they found her body in a remote area of Henuberu.

It is suspected that she may have been murdered. Two years ago, a similar incident occured in which Ratna Kottari was murdered and till date no one has been arrested.

The Byndoor police have reached the spot, SP Annamalai is on his way to Henuberu.  Speaking to mangalorean.com SP Annamalai said, “At present it is not fair to comment on the incident. We have sent the body for post mortem. Once the post mortem report will be out, the cause of the death will be revealed.”

A case has been registered in the Byndoor Police Station. Heavy rain is hampering the investigation process.
