Mangaluru: Sting Operation on Love Jihad, Muslim Central Committee demands CBI or COD Probe

Mangaluru: The Muslim Central Committee held a press meet in connection with the recent post on Love Jihad by Cobrapost and Gulail, at Hotel Woodlands here, on October 8.

Addressing the mediapersons, Muslim Central Committee’s K S Mohammed Masood said, “We do not believe in whatever the Cobrapost and Gulail has revealed on Love Jihad, but at the same time we need clarification from the people of the district whose names have been mentioned in the post.”

He further said that the police department has done justice with the Muslim community. “From the past three days, we have been reading the news on love jihad regarding the Sangh Parivar in various media. But the home ministry did not take any action to investigate the case. We met the police commissioner in this regard and requested him to take action against those who have played with the sentiments of the Muslim community.”

Recalling the statement of BJP MLC Captain Ganesh Karnik stating that 60% of the police constables are from RSS and that they have infiltrated the police force, Masood said that  this infiltration into the police force comes in handy when they need to take the law into their hands. “Captain Ganesh in his interview propagates the myth of love jihad and of a Muslim conspiracy to increase their population to convert India into an Islamic state.” Masood also said, “We are unable to believe his statement. Let Ganesh Karnik deny his statement; if not, the home ministry should investigate this with a high level inquiry.”

“Even Jagadish Shenava has agreed in his interview said that they slap false cases on Muslim men and admits using mobs to build pressure on the local police. He also explains how organisations such as his build pressure on the police machinery to take the law of the land into their own hands claiming “Here we have our organisation, it’s so powerful that in spite of having the Congress government in the state, they are scared of us as we are so powerful here”.”

“The Muslim organization will give one month’s time for investigation into this case. There are many Muslim organizations and they have called the central committee to take action against those who are involved in it. If the case will not be handed over to CBI or COD, there will be untoward incidents taking place in the district and the Home ministry will be responsible for this. We will not believe in police inquiry,” he said.

He also said that the committee does not blame anyone directly but it is the duty of the home ministry to investigate the case and do justice with the Muslim community. “We want peace in the society, but when we are unnecessarily targeted and blamed, we will not sit quiet. The home ministry should investigate the case. If they are unable to do so, let them hand over the case to the COD or CBI. We will not accept the local police to investigate the case at any cost, because Karnik has already mentioned that there are 60% RSS trained constables in the police department.”

Jihad means struggle or strife and there is no any organization called Love Jihad. He demanded the home ministry to investigate the statements of Karnik about the 60% RSS trained constables in police department, murder of Hindu girls and how the Sangh Parivar handle couples to bring them back to their fold.

Members of Muslim Central Committee Ashraf, Basha Thangal, Abubaker, Hanif, A M Mustafa, Aslam, Riazuddin and Ahmed Bava were also present.
