Harassment by Senior, Kota SI Kabbal Raj Resigns

Udupi: Kabbal Raj H D a police sub-inspector of Kota Police station resigned alleging harassment and insult by the senior officials here on September 22.


Kabbal Raj was a strict and pro active police officer in the Kota region. He handed over the resignation letter to his subordinate officer, with instructions to hand it over to the Superintendent of Police, and left the office. The resignation was addressed to the Inspector General of Police western Range.

When Mangalorean.com contacted H T Balakrishana SP Udupi, he said that we received the information of Sub-inspector Kabbal Raj’s resignation giving personal reasons. He sent his resignation to the police station by addressing it to the IG Western Range. I am yet to see the contents of the letter, he said.

When our local correspondent tried to contact Kabbal Raj his Mobile phone is switched off. Sources said that Kabbal Raj was facing harassment from the higher officials. Earlier when the police had protested, Kabbal Raj had decided to give his resignation but SP Annamalai convinced him to change his mind.

The Locals have demanded the SP of Udupi not to accept Kabbal Raj’s resignation. They have also decided to observe Kota Bandh on September 23.
