Udupi: Opposition for Puttige Swamiji taking part in Paryaya Procession and Darbar comes to the Fore

Udupi: There was a controversy over Sri Sugunendra Teertha Swamiji of Puttige Math taking part in the Paryaya procession and Darbar and honour Pejawar Sri VishweshaTeertha Swamiji with the title Abhinava Sri Sudeendhra Teertha after the Swamiji announced his participation in a press meet.

As the historic Paryaya is about to take place in a few hours time, there is strong opposition from the Ashta Math Swamijis, for the participation of Sri SugunendraTeertha Swamiji of Puttige Math in the Paryaya Procession and Darbar on January 18.

In this regard Sri Vishwesha Teertha Swamiji along with Sri Vishwa Prasanna Teertha Swamiji met Sri Sugunendra Teertha Swamiji and requested him not to take part in the procession and Darbar to avoid further complications and misunderstanding during the Paryaya.

When the mediapersons questioned Sri Sugunendra Teertha Swamiji regarding his participation in the Paryaya procession and Darbar, he said, “I will decide in two hours about my participation”.

When the mediapersons questioned Sri Vishwesha Teertha Swamiji about the controversy Swamiji refused to answer.
