ಮಿಲಾಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಪಾಂಶುಪಾಲರ ಮೇಲೆ ಹಲ್ಲೆ: ಕ್ಯಾ ಕಾರ್ಣಿಕ್ ಖಂಡನೆ
ಮಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಮಿಲಾಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲರ ಮೇಲೆ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಯೊಬ್ಬ ನಡೆಸಿದ ಹಲ್ಲೆಯ ಪ್ರಕರಣ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಖಂಡನಾರ್ಹ. ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರು ಹಾಗೂ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ನಡುವೆ ಉತ್ತಮ ಗುರು ಶಿಷ್ಯರ ಬಾಂಧವ್ಯವಿರುವ ಅವಿಭಜಿತ ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಕನ್ನಡ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯು ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ತನ್ನದೆ ಛಾಪನ್ನು ಮೂಡಿಸಿದೆ.
ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಭವಿಷ್ಯ ರೂಪಿಸುವ ಹೊಣೆ ಹೊತ್ತಿರುವ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರು ಕೆಲವು ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಶಿಸ್ತಿನ ಕ್ರಮ ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳುವ ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆ ನೀಡುವುದು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಭವಿಷ್ಯ ಹಾಳಾಗಬಾರದು ಎಂಬ ಕಾಳಜಿಯಿಂದ. ಆದರೆ ಒಬ್ಬ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ತನ್ನ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲರ ಮೇಲೆಯೇ ಹಲ್ಲೆ ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಾನೆ ಎಂದಾದರೆ ಅಂತ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಸಮಾಜ ಯಾವ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಯನ್ನು ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಳ್ಳಬಹುದು? ಈ ಪ್ರಕರಣ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ವಿಷಾದನೀಯ.
ಹಲ್ಲೆ ನಡೆಸಿದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಯನ್ನು ಬಂಧಿಸಿ ಇಂತಹ ಪ್ರಕರಣಗಳು ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಯಾವ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳಲ್ಲೂ ಮರುಕಳಿಸದ ಹಾಗೆ ಯಾವುದೇ ಒತ್ತಡಗಳಿಗೂ ಮಣಿಯದೆ ಕಠಿಣ ಕಾನೂನು ಕ್ರಮ ಕೈಗೊಂಡು ಮಾದರಿಯಾಗುವಂತೆ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಇಲಾಖೆಯನ್ನು ಹಾಗೂ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಆಡಳಿತವನ್ನು ವಿಧಾನ ಪರಿಷತ್ ಸದಸ್ಯ ಹಾಗೂ ವಿರೋಧ ಪಕ್ಷದ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಸಚೇತಕರಾದ ಕ್ಯಾಪ್ಟನ್ ಗಣೇಶ್ ಕಾರ್ಣಿಕ್ ರವರು ಆಗ್ರಹಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

Capt. Karnik is a man of integrity and this incident proves it. He is doing the right thing by condemning the bad behavior of a student and standing with College staff. Unfortunately, the same thing can’t be said about other politicians including stenographers. They all have a bad habit of showing selective outrage depending on the religious background of people involved. Had this been a student from Hindu community with one of his distant uncles having a few RSS friends, the entire incident would have turned into another Hindu-bashing spectacle by the (fake) secular mafia.
