A dedicated social worker Shetty, aged 50, was elected as the President of Kotekar Town Panchayat a couple days ago. Due to his many years of social service in the community, people wanted him to serve them as the Panchayat head. Presently, he is employed as a conductor, in a route no 7 private city bus that runs between State Bank and Urwa Store, for his daily earning. He intends to balance his job as a bus conductor and his passion for serving people. Shetty has been in the profession for three decades and has simultaneously developed a passion for social service. I need this job to support my family. If my job is too hectic and interferes with my Panchayat duties, I will quit it temporarily. Although my wife works at a hardware shop, it’s always better to have two incomes to sustain a family. People chose me for this Panchayat post for my dedicated service in the BJP party. I promise to do my duties to the best of my ability to serve the people in the community.”

“My main aim is to get the Netravathi water for residents, improve and repair the dilapidated roads, and develop the town. As a president of the Panchayat, I will implement plans for rainwater harvesting since some educational institutions have already implemented rainwater harvesting successfully. Serving my community and reaching out to their needs will be my main priority,” added Uday Kumar Shetty.
