While certain agencies had, under government’s directions, been probing into the dealings of the family and institutions in Dharmasthala, the minister’s conduct in enjoying the hospitality there could have a bearing on the progress of the investigations.

At meeting of the joint action committee, it had demanded of the home minister to make public the action taken in the matter. But the minister had maintained total silence on the subject, it said.

The committee has also criticized the apathy and lack of courtesy shown by the minister towards a victim’s family, by not visiting the house of the college girl (name not mentioned), located close to the temple town, who was subjected to sexual assault and murder a few years ago, the committee has pointed out.
