Bengaluru: Dr Kripa Amar Alva from Mangaluru has been appointed the chairperson of the Karnataka State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (KSCPCR) by the government of Karnataka.
Minister of women and children development Umashree made this announcement here on Wednesday, June 24. Se said that the tenure of the current incumbent, H R Umesh Aradya, was to end this month and Dr Alva would take over from him.
Umashree further said that Kripa had a good track record of having served the society in multiple ways.
Kripa has earlier served as multiple council chairperson of Lions International and also as member of the Mangaluru Airport Authority’s advisory committee.
In recognition of her service and achievements, the Cosmopolitan University, Missouri, USA, has conferred an honorary Doctorate on her. She was the very first female Indian recipient of this honour.
