Speaking about their new recruit, Chennaiyin FC manager Marco Materazzi said: “We are very happy to have signed Eder. He has immense experience having played in various leagues of Europe and will add plenty of quality and solidarity to our backline. Eder will also be a good guide for the Indian players and I have full faith in him.”

The Brazilian has spent much of his career in his native land with the most notable stint at giants Vasco Da Gama, where he made 79 appearances between 2005 and 2007.
