City Doctor Survives Near-fatal Road Mishap at Padavinangady

Mangaluru: Dr Kishan Alva from the city had a providential escape when his Skoda car met with a serious road mishap at Padavinangady in the early hours of Saturday.

He was driving from Mundkur in Karkala taluk towards Mangaluru and as he reached a steep turn at Padavinangady, he suddenly noticed a pack of street dogs running across the road.

To avoid hitting them, he applied sudden brakes. As a result, the car swirled and rolled over three times before landing into the bushes beside the road. Luckily for Dr Alva, he suffered only minor injuries.

Eyewitnesses said that the consequences of the mishap could otherwise have been terrible.
