Goldsmith Found Dead in Rivulet – Drowning Suspected

Puttur: Narayana Acharya (70), a skilled goldsmith who was a specialist in making silver waist-bands and toe-rings with fine filigree work, was found dead in a rivulet at Bedrala of Kemminje villaged on Monday.

He made such delicate jewellery at home and supplied to outlets. Earlier in the day, he had left home to buy materials.

He is suspected to have drowned while crossing the rivulet. Because of old age, he appears to have been unable to save himself.

He is survived by wife, two sons and three daughters. A case has been registered at the town police station.
