Ivan Will Not Get Ticket because he Stopped Siddaramaiah from Visiting Kudroli Temple – Poojary

Mangaluru: “MLC Ivan D’Souza will not get the ticket to contest the Lok Sabha elections. Do you want to know the reason why? Because Ivan D’Souza stopped the then Chief Minister of Karnataka Siddaramaiah from visiting the Kudroli Sri Gokarnanath Temple”, said senior Congress leader B Janardhan Poojary in a press meet held at Hotel Woodlands here on March 14.

Addressing the mediapersons Janardhan Poojary said, “I will support anyone who contests the Lok Sabha polls from Dakshina Kannada except Dr Rajendra Kumar. Be it Ramanath Rai, B K Hariprasad or Vijay Kumar Sorake I will support them.”

When asked will you support MLC Ivan D’Souza if the high command gives him the ticket, Poojary said, “At any cost, I will not support Ivan, he will not get the ticket. During Dasara, the then CM Siddaramaiah came to Mangaluru but Ivan did not allow him to visit the Sri Gokarananth Temple in Kudroli. Even if he gets the ticket he will not win”.

When asked about the case filed against Ramanath Rai, Poojary said, “Yes the case has been filed against Ramanath Rai but it is not proved. Last time Ramanath Rai lost the Assembly polls because of appeasement of a particular community. Being a politician he should not have said what he said! I have asked him to apologize for giving that statement”.

When asked about giving a ticket to JD(S) in Udupi – Chikkamagaluru and Uttara Kannada, Poojary said, “I request the high command to look into it and give Udupi – Chikkamagaluru seat to the Congress candidate. When I meet the national leaders in Delhi I will inform them not to give the ticket to JD(S) candidate in Udupi”.
