Konkani Show – On Screen and Stage: 3 June in Kuwait

Kuwait: Goandrama entertainment takes a new dimension as director Nazy Rod, delighted by an overwhelming response from the Kuwait audience, presents his much acclaimed Konkani stage play ‘Ghonvdho’ (Mason) in a different mode – ON A BIG-DISPLAY SCREEN.

Ghonvdho-02 THE SHOW, scheduled to be held on June 3rd Friday 3:30 pm at Carmel School, Kheitan, ALSO INCLUDES SINGERS SINGING ON STAGE.

Famed Goan singer Seby de Divar is specially flown in for the show; he will sing 3 powerful solos while popular Kuwait Trio Cajetan de Sanvordem-Mario de Majorda-Michael D’Silva will belt out their latest compositions. Well-known Kuwait-based singer Katty de Navelim will sing a masterpiece as well.

The stage play ‘Ghonvdho’ staged in May 2012 was much-admired by everyone as a top-class entertainer. It features superstar Sylvester Vaz in the lead role with his wife Irene Vaz playing a double role.

The stage play also comprises of Braz Rodrigues (Braz de Parra), Cajetan de Sanvordem, little Joshua Gonsalves, Lawry Miranda, Francis Dias, Comedian Simla and Mangalorean star Lucy Aranha. The ‘sideshows’ are supported by Luis D’Costa (Luis de Sanguem), comedian Salu Faleiro, etc.


The Lopes Brothers and their sister Agnes have sung amazing songs in the drama.

The musical score for the ‘live’ show will be provided by Shahu. Director Nazy Rod’s son Anson Rodrigues is expected to host the evening which is anticipated to be a different type of an experience for the Kuwait Konkani audience.
