Shetty met district superintendent of police Annamalai requesting him to fast-track the search and inquiry process. Until date, even after almost a month, nothing is known about her.

At the time of leaving the house, she wore a simple sari, a pair of old shoes and did not even take an umbrella and her mobile phone. It was obvious that she intended to visit a neighbour and not to travel very far. However, as usual, she wore jewellery worth about Rs 3-75 lakh. This has created fears that she might have been kidnapped.
