Mangaluru: 771 Haj Aspirants Administered Vaccine Shots

Mangaluru: The inauguration programme of precautionary vaccines for Haj Piligrims was held at Yenepoya Hospital here, on July 22.

Personal Secretary of Haj Affairs and Information Minister Ejaz Ahmed inaugurated the programme. Speaking on the occasion, Ejaz said that this year, 771 pilgrims are set to fly from the Mangaluru International Airport and as a precautionary measure, vaccines were administered to all the pilgrims.

He further said that from Karnataka, 5100 pilgrims will go for Haj pilgrimage of which 2050 have been selected through the lot system.

The pilgrims will fly from Bengaluru, Mangaluru, Goa and Hyderabad airports. Pilgrims from Mangaluru, Udupi, Chikmagaluru, Hassan and Kodagu will fly from Mangaluru International Airport.

In the state, Mangaluru has initiated the process of administering precautionary vaccines for Haj pilgrims.

Mangaluru Haj Camp president Yenepoya Mohammed Kunhi, president of District Haj Advisory Committee S M Rasheed and others were present on the occasion.
