Mulki: Shamina Alva of Kenchanakere Chosen to Receive Aryabhata Award

Mulki:  Shamina Alva of Kenchanakere near here has been chosen to receive the prestigious Aryabhata award for 2014-15 in recognition of her contribution to various fields of society.

The award will be presented to her at a function to be held in Ravindra Kalakshetra in Bengaluru on Aug 9, in the presence of dignitaries.

She is the founder-president of the women’s wing of Mulki Buntara Sangha. She has served as office-bearer of various associations and organizations like secretary of the alumni/alumnae association of Vijaya College, Mulki and founder-secretary of Kinnigoli Inner Wheel Club.

Currently, she is the vice president of the Madeline High School Alumni Association and member of the executive committee of the Mulki Buntara Sangha.
