New Delhi, May 4 (IANS) Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who has been honoured with the Best Actor Award at the 63rd National Film Awards, says he was humbled and touched as President Pranab Mukherjee mentioned him in his speech.

The 73-year-old, who looked dapper in a black suit, was in Vigyan Bhavan here on Tuesday to receive the award instituted by the government of India for his portrayal a Bengali father in “Piku”.

While addressing a gathering at the award ceremony, Mukherjee called Amitabh a “living legend”. The cine icon took to Twitter on Wednesday morning where he shared that he is “truly touched” by the mention.

“Back now 3:54 am from Delhi and National Award! So humbled and touched, for President of India to take my name in his speech!” Amitabh tweeted.

“Truly touched, deeply humbled and honoured by the President’s mention of me in his speech…” he wrote.

Big B was accompanied with his wife Jaya, son Abhishek, daughter Shweta Nanda and daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan for the award event.
