St Ann’s College Encourages Yoga – A way to Wholeness

Mangaluru: The Third International Yoga day was celebrated at St.Ann’s College of Education (Autonomous), Mangaluru, on 21st June 2017. The event started by invoking the God of Light by lighting the diya by the Principal, Dr Sr.M.Clare, A.C., followed by instructions from the Physical Director Suresh Kumar T. A group of hundred B. Ed student teachers and the faculty participated in the Yoga session.

Student President Ms. Anna Una Crasta gave the highlights of International Yoga Day. Student and teachers enthusiastically performed various Asanas like Suryanamaskara, Pranayama, Pavanamukthasana, Bhujangasana, Ustrasana, Vrukshasana etc. The significance of each Asana and its benefits were made known to the students.

Principal Dr Sr. M. Clare, A. C. expressed that Yoga is an integral part of our entire being. She also added that Yoga to be practised every day in order to enjoy good mental health and the spiritual aspect of Yoga was stressed in her address. Ms.Vilma D’ Souza compered the programme.
