Time is a measure in which events can be ordered from the past through the present into the future, and also the measure of durations of events and the intervals between them.
A time to remember, a time to forget. A time to sow, a time to reap. A time to think and a time to act. Time is the factor that decides everything for us. Time once lost they say can never be gotten back again. But how many of us really pay attention to life that’s fleeting by us even as we ponder over what has to be done next?
It was a casual conversation with a bunch of youngsters that got me thinking. They were pointing out to me that in the quest of trying to impress and worry about other people and situations that surround us day in and out, we are missing out on many of the moments in life that could have been memorable. Wasting time by thinking or regretting about lost time, we waste our present and our future too.
We are so busy pursuing our goals and vision and ambitions and reaching the destination that we forget that the journey of life is lost in the bargain. Not even the most powerful of us can stop the passing of time. And life just ends up being a series of IF Only….But then….Why me… filled with regrets and missed opportunities. We are so busy judging between what appears right and wrong that we forget to live.
An old number by Aqua a popular Band comes to my mind when I think of Time. If only I could turn back time…. But time can never be turned back.
Problems in life will come and go. The choice to wallow in self pity or to get up and face life as it comes is the decision that is solely ours. Life teaches us to make good use of time, while time teaches us the value of life. Get busy living your life. You have just one good chance at life.
Where is the time to hate when there is so little time to love? So live, love and laugh. Life is all about that moment that we spent carefree, a moment that we spent peacefully with our loved ones, that one moment where we laughed and giggled over the silliest of jokes or pranks with our friends and colleagues.
Our Society sends us a constant stream of messages that tells us what and when to do things. We consume more information, we run through the rat race often without heeding to our emotions and feelings and end up tired and disillusioned. We can combat the pressure to do it all by consciously taking a step back to look at the big picture. When you turn back and look at the best days of your life, those would be the days that you thought you have spent meaninglessly. They are the moments we spent carefree, a moment spent peacefully with our loved ones that one moment we laughed and giggled over the silliest of jokes or pranks with our friends and colleagues. When we try to do too many things at the same time our mind gets scattered. Our thoughts are dispersed, our energy is diffused and our actions are all over the place.
We have the power to design our lives in a way that facilitates the achievement of what we want the most. Give Time Time and everything will turn out fine.
Life is about making and impact not just an income. Refuse to give up on what gives your heart joy and your soul purpose.
So whatever it is that you love to do, whatever it is that ignites your soul- reach for it. Reach past the doubts of others and your own doubts. You deserve a life filled with meaning and happiness. You deserve to make an impact in a way that would make that little child in you to look up from your guitar, drawing sheet or book and smile. Because Today you are you and there is no one alive who is your than you.
Time is Precious! Waste it wisely.
