Udupi: The district Bharatiya Janatha Party launched ‘Maha Sampark Abhiyan’, a mass contact programme by BJP to communicate with its newly enrolled members. The programme was launched by Shobha Karandlaje, MP of Udupi – Chikkamagaluru, at Yakshagana Artiste Sanjeeva Suvarna’s House Budnaru Indrali here, on June 17.
Addressing the mediapersons, Shobha Karandlaje said that the enrollment drive had evoked good response in the state and the district. In Karnataka, the membership stood around 1.10 crore. Similarly, over 2 lakh people were enrolled in Udupi district. As part of the abhiyan, BJP leaders will visit the houses of new members and enlighten them on the achievements of the NDA government.
“The workers would also be informed of achievements and development measures initiated by the Union government and other states where the party was in power,” she said.
The party had taken effective measures to strengthen the bridge between the organisation and its workers, which would go a long way in achieving various objectives of the party, she added. “The party has achieved good results in the gram panchayat elections in districts. People have responded to the bad administration of the state government and the good governance of the Narendra Modi government.”
BJP district president Thingale Vikramarjuna Hegde, former president and state committee member Uday Kumar Shetty, Secretary Kuthyaru Naveen Shetty, Sandhya Ramesh Veena Shetty, Mattar Rathanakar Hegde, Githanjali Suvarna, Ravi Ameen, Shyamala Kundar and others were present.
