VHP stages protest against Conversion in Sullia

Sullia: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad staged a protest against alleged conversion, in the ground in front of the Channakeshava Temple here on September 19.

The protesters holding saffron flags shouted against the three cases of religious conversion in Sullia. Protesters from various Taluks in Sullia took part in the procession which was flagged off from Jyothi circle and culminated in the ground in front of the Channakeshava Temple.

It is alleged that a teenager, Deekshith Gowda (19), was missing from Sullia. His family members allege that he has been converted. His father says that he had seen him performing the Namaz.

Shops and businesses were closed from 10:00 am to support the bandh. Tight security was deployed in the outskirts of Sullia and in the city. KSPR district reserve police along with police officers from various police stations have arrived to overlook the safety and security arrangements.
