Rotterdam, Nov 23 (IANS) Swedish midfielder Simon Gustafson scored a brace as Feyenoord Rotterdam climbed to the second place of the Eredivisie by overpowering FC Twente 5-0.

Just like elsewhere in Dutch professional football the match here on Sunday started with one-minute silence for the victims of the attacks in Paris. Swedish international Gustafson scored the first two goals in the first half and in the second part Michiel Kramer, Karim El Ahmadi and substitute Bilal Basacikoglu added three more goals.

Twente finished the match with ten men after a red card for substitute Tim Holscher, who had entered the pitch for only one minute, for a challenge on Rick Karsdorp.

Also on Sunday Heracles Almelo drew 0-0 at home against Excelsior.

On Saturday league leaders Ajax Amsterdam had little problems with SC Cambuur. After the opening goal by Joel Veltman Sander van de Streek equalised on behalf of the visitors, but Arek Milik, Davy Klaassen (twice) and Amin Younes earned the home-team the 5-1 win.

PSV Eindhoven dropped points at Willem II in Tilburg and lost the second place, which was taken by Feyenoord. After Gaston Pereiro gave the reigning champions the early lead, Willem II bounced back with two goals by Erik Falkenburg. Captain Luuk de Jong made in 2-2, but PSV did not manage to score more.

Ajax maintained the lead with 32 points from 13 matches, now followed by Feyenoord (29), PSV (28) and Heracles Almelo (26).
